The elegant and easy-to-operate handle replaces the basic push-button handle that may already be on your screen door. The interior latch features an easy opening push movement, and the long-lasting finish adds a touch of class to any storm door. This set includes everything needed for an easy installation.

When replacing an existing handle, the screw posts for the handle must be 1-3/4 inch apart. For new installations, a new 7/8-inch hole for the keylock will be required. The lock can be installed above or below the handle, depending on your preference. The spindle for the deadlock may be cut for your particular installation. Before drilling, ensure that the inside latch and lock do not interfere with the operation of your main door handle. If they do, raise or lower the storm door hardware.

The model 1216 storm door handle is designed to replace surface mounted handles and is not compatible with mortise handle sets. Please note that it is only a compatible replacement for storm door handles that have four location posts; if your existing handle has two location posts and an anchor screw, you will need to purchase model 1215 from Ideal Security.

The package includes screws and spindles for doors 1 –1 ½ inches thick, a door handle, interior non-locking latch, keyed deadbolt, and two keys. For doors thicker than 1 ½ inches, purchase the SP1216V1ZP screw pack for doors up to 2 1/8 inches thick. The straightforward installation process requires the screw posts for the handle to be 1-3/4 inches apart when replacing an existing handle, and a 7/8 inch spade bore drill bit for new installations (not included).
